Bar count

Hi I would like to label each bar starting with the first bar of the session, counting up to the current bar.

1 2 3 4 5 6 etc

I would be using DrawText to plot the data a few ticks below the low of each bar.

What would be the most effective way to automatically insert the bars number without individually labeling each one.

Thanks for opening the thread.

I would suggest to use a DataSeries object that contains the count for your bars and to iterate the count for each bar. When Bars.FirstBarOfSession becomes true in OnBarUpdate(), you can then set the count back to 0.

That way whenever you do a DrawText(), you can match the barsAgo with the barsAgo for the DataSeries to get the right count for that bar.
