No plot is shown in my new indicator

Hello Everybody,

I am new in ninjatrader and I want to create a new indicator just to practice. I am using NT7. After the automatic generation of the source code through the wizard, I have modified the "OnBarUpdate" function as follow.

protected override void OnBarUpdate()
{

// plot below by replacing 'Close[0]' with your own formula.
Plot0.Set(Close[1]);
}

Unfortunately I don't get any plot on my chart. But if I write "Close[0]" instead of "Close[1]" the plot is shown properly.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Hello Francisse,

Likely there is an error occuring that you can see in the Log tab of the Control Center.

On the very first bar there will be no bar 1 bar ago. This causes an index error as an index that does not exist is being called.

Try adding:

if (CurrentBar < 1)
return;

to the beginning of OnBarUpdate. This will prevent the script processing until the second bar when there will be a bar 1 bar ago (the first bar).
