When does an indicator "see" a new draw object

    Scenario

I add a draw object like a diamond to chart.

Question: In the indicator would I see the diamond immediately via a "foreach (IDrawObject draw in DrawObjects)" or would I need to press F5 to "see" the diamond?

    Cheers

    Hello ct,

    Thank you for writing in.

This would depend on your indicator's calculate on bar close property.

If this is set to true, your indicator will only call OnBarUpdate() at the close of a bar. So, you wouldn't see any new updates until a bar closes since your foreach loop will only execute once every time a bar closes (assuming you have placed this loop within OnBarUpdate())..

If this property is set to false, OnBarUpdate() is called on every tick that comes in. This will offer you a more real-time view of the DrawObjects collection when looping through it as the foreach would be called on every tick (assuming you have placed this loop within OnBarUpdate())..
