Chart update / refresh rate in NT8

Hi,

I've today built a new chart type, which is text. It uses Draw.Text( to plot the data over the bars and is set to update specific tags every 250 or so. However, the chart does not update this quick, even though the data and the code seems to be executing. I went to check for the old NT7 type chart update rate, but it seems this no longer exists.

Is there a way I can force the text item newly updated on the chart to refresh. I already put a limiter in my code so I can set the delay in MS between draw.text to ensure it is CPU friendly.

Hello pjsmith, and thank you for your question.

NinjaTrader 8 is event driven. This means that it only ever updates when price change or daily data is received. If you would like an event to trigger more regularly, you will need to use the TriggerCustomEvent method, detailed here.
