    Color Scaling

    Hi,

Sometime I ago I recall seeing an example someone had submitted on color scaling but cant seem to find it now.

Could someone post a link to this if they know where it is?

    Thankyou

What do you mean color scaling? If you mean multi-colored plots here is a reference sample for that: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/v...ead.php?t=3227

      Thanks for the reply Josh,

No what I was after was a way to scale colors used as background within draw text. I have made some progress but would still appreciate the link if anyone knows of it.

Also I now have a supplementary question related to DrawText.

Is there a way to force the box size (as draw by the outline) regardless of the number of characters contained within the string. At the moment the box size auto adjusts based on the number of characters. I would like to set it to always be say 4 characters wide.

      Thanks

Sorry I am unfamiliar with the "scaling" you are referring to.

Unfortunately the DrawText() will draw the whole string. If you want to draw less of the string I suggest you cut/splice etc on the string before you send it to DrawText().

Hello, since you are talking about scaling, am is there anybody there knows how to scale a drawtext on the chart? I mean I have plots some text on the chart and I want it to be hidden/remain its position when I tried to scroll back the chart. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

            Hello,

You would need to over ride the Plot method in order to accomplish that. Unfortunately we do not have any documentation on how to do this and cannot provide any support - however I'd suggest looking at the BarTimer indicator under the #region Miscellaneous section for an idea of how to get started.

I'm also providing a link to a thread on some unsupported/undocumented tips and tricks:

Still confused how to set a drawtext in the right margin section to be there always even if I scroll back the chart. I tried to used overriding the plot but my primary plots also gone. Is there any example which is more clear?

Unfortunately we do not have any examples or documentation on plot over rides.
