how do I open strategy to edit code?

Hi,

I have compiled and saved a strategy.
Now that the ninjascript editor window is closed I cannot find how to open up my saved strategy in the editor again to modify the code.

Hello,

Thank you for the post.

To edit the file again, it should be listed in the Tools -> Edit NInjaScript -> Strategy menu option.

If you had given the strategy a different Class name than the file name, it may be named differently in the editor versus what you would see in the Strategy analyzer or chart.

If you are unable to locate the file in the list, you can also see if you can locate the file in windows explorer by opening the folder: Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\Strategy

thanks for the quick reply.

when I click tools I don't see the "edit ninjascript" option.
Just opened the ninjascript in VS and looks like the class name is the same as the filename I find here:
C:\Users\NinjaTrader\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Strategies

when I tried to export just now it says that there is an error that needs to be resolved before I can export. is this part of why I cannot see it?...

Hello,

Yes if you have a compile error, there is a chance the file would not be accessable from a menu.

You said that you can not see Tools -> Edit NInjaScript menu option, depending on the license you are using this may be the cause. Could I have you email me at: platform support @ ninjatrader.com for further assistance?
