What can the possible cause of the error:
Error on calling 'OnBarUpdate' method on bar 5012: External component has thrown an exception

Does use of ShapDx components within OnRender() within the custom indicator have any link with such issue?

I have not seen this error in relation to SharpDx or OnRender() in my testing.

Can you send us your Log and Trace files? You can do this by going to Help > Email Support... > please list 'ATTN: Patrick H - 1454728' in the subject line.
