Count candles with a specific property

Hi. I wanna count candles within a set period. problem(for me) is that its not row of candles, otherwise i could just save the barcount of the first candle(x) and work with currentbar-x from there on, but rather a number of single candles within a row of candles.

lets make an easy example:
If EMA100 > SMA200 = uptrend
else downtrend.

so basicly:

int trendBefore=currentTrend;
if (emaSeries[0]>smaSeries[0])
currentTrend=(int)TREND.LONG;
else if (emaSeries[0]<smaSeries[0])
currentTrend=(int)TREND.SHORT;


if(swingBefore!=-1 && (swingBefore!=currentSwing))
{
//Trendchange
}

now i wanna count all bull candles in an uptrend. And ofc reset the count after a trendchange.

so:

if (currentTrend=(int)TREND.LONG && Close[0]>Open[0])
{
Do something???
}

if(swingBefore!=-1 && (swingBefore!=currentSwing))
{
Reset???
}

how to tackle this?

Just to clarify, after a certain criteria is met you would like to look backward a few bars and count the number of bars that meet a second criteria, is this correct?

You can use a loop and a counter

int myCounter = 0;
if (/*first criteria*/)
{
for (var i = 0; i < numberOfBarsToLookIn; i++)
{
if (Close[i] > Open[i])
{
myCounter++;
}
}
}
