Script EventHandlers on chart/manual trading

Is it possible to have certain eventhandlers programmed on chart/manual trading?

Example: i buy a specific instrument through the charttrader. I would like a custom script to perform certain actions on my buy action.

Thank you for the question.

This would not be something that NinjaTrader supports or is included with NinjaScript.

Because NinjaScript is C#, this potentially could be possible but I am unsure exactly what would be required to accomplish it. Unfortunately I don't have any other information I could provide on this topic but this question will remain if anyone else would like to comment on this topic.

The reason I ask is because I would like to have certain files created (EURUSD_OPEN_DateTime) when I place manual trades.

Hello,

Yes NinjaTrader 8 has quite a few enhancements in the NinjaScript department so I could see this being much more possible going forward.

NinjaTrader 7 was never really intended to have the ability to customize beyond Indicators or Strategies but as you know there is much more content than just strategies and indicators out there. Because of this it would lead to using unsupported code and more advanced programming tactics to do something along the lines of what you are asking.

I think one way to accomplish this would be to be able to attach scripts with overriden eventhandlers to an ATM strategy.

So have the ATM fire up certain OnPositionUpdate OnInit handlers and have custom code ran with your own script.

Just thinking out loud.
