CrossBelow and Above behavior

Hello NT Friends,

Got a quick question about how CrossBelow and CrossAbove work, I get that it both functions return true when an indicator/prices crosses the other, but my question goes what would it return if the indiciator is already below or above the other. eg. on the 1st bar of the day?

Say I'm working with bar close price when it crosses SMA above or below, but working on every tick, right at the start of the day, if the price is already below SME for example, woud CrossBelow(close, SMA) return me TRUE? Or it only does that when there's an actual crossing?

Thank you for your post.

No, CrossBelow would not return true if on the first bar the indicator calculates the value is below the value to compare against. It only returns true when a cross occurs.
