Can indicators return values other than Plot values?

Is it possible to program an indicator to return values other than those associated with plots? I suspect that it can be done but I don't know how to do it. For instance, one of my indicators has some plots. However, on each bar I also calculate some other values. I don't want to plot those values but I would like to be able to have access to them from outside the indicator with a dot notation similar to MyIndicator.MyValue1[bars ago], MyIndicator.MyValue2[bars ago], etc. Can I somehow do this with a DataSeries and Set commands so that the values are accessable but don't show up as plots, etc? A brief example would be helpful. Thanks.
