    Import data from DB

    Hello!

    Can anybody tell me, is there a way to import instruments price data in NinjaTrader from database (MS SQL Server for example)? Im currently have database with real-time data in it, and Id like to use to use this data with NT.

    As I see, there is no such functionality in NinjaTrader, but maybe it can be done by scripting or in some other way?

    If there is no way to import real-time data, maybe there is a possibility to import historical data, without manual generation of txt files?

    You would need to provide the data in this format

    ... and import it by Tools->Historical data->Import

      Thanx for your answer!

      Im already doing this.
      But its laborious to do it manually every time.

      Is there a way to make NT taking this data directly from DB (by c# programming) or at least automate files import for not to do this by hands for each instrument?

      The problem is that I need data for Russian stocks and as I know, there is no brokers, who provide it in compatible with NT format.

          Would be nice to eventually open this up to API so we could "programatically import" tick data histories into NinjaTrader. Either a C# API or even a simple COM/OLE scriptable type API for calling via JavaScript or VBScript.

          For example, AmiBroker's one man dev team has had a nice COM/OLE API for years to programmatically controlling its application (http://www.amibroker.com/guide/objects.html) which I use all the time to automate the import of dozens of custom futures data histories purchased from http://www.TickData.com/.
