    Visual Studio 2013

Anything I should know about in general about using Visual Studio to code for ninjatrader?

Is this not recommended? I prefer using a real IDE

Would I have to copy and paste the code back into the ninjatrader ide ?

    Hello NinjaCustomer,

    Thank you for your post.

The code itself would need to be in the (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom folder, or it's sub folders for the respective item (such as indicators). As long as it is an assembly that can be referenced in NinjaTrader or a .cs file that has been compiled within NinjaTrader, there should be no issue with developing within VS. Keep in kind, whether a referenced assembly or just a .cs file, you need to compile it within NinjaTrader through Tools > Edit NinjaScript > select Indicator > select any indicator and then OK > and finally press F5 to compile.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

        Thank you for your response.

The version will not matter for your intended use.
