Timer vs FileWatcher

I know, totally outside the NT Support Box so no need to post the official " NT does not support" thingy.

I have a question for the more experienced C# coders.

If I wanted to check a file (csv, xml.....) for any changes such as Last Write Time is it more efficient to create a Timer and check every second or create a FileWatcher? This will be in an NT Indicator if that makes a difference.

Pros and Cons of each method?
