Add time frame with no contract date

I added an additional time frame via an ADD, I accidentally left off the contract date and had only the instrument name. For example "Add(NQ, PeriodType.Minute, i1);" it was working fine but have since added the contract date. It seemed to pick up the current contract period.

Is it supported that a contract date is not required on an ADD of a time frame?

I am using build 22.

Hi ct, that would not be expected nor officially supported, I would expect to see a log entry of that kind -

The indicator 'xxx' has called the Add() method with an invalid instrument. Either 'NQ' does not exist in the Instrument Manager or the specified exchange has not been configured.

Nothing in the log. I looked. It seemed a little strange. I will just keep adding at the contract date as that is what I have always done.
