It is possible. You need to write a mouse emulator. It is messy but it does work. Having done it, it was more trouble than it was worth it. I ended up rethinking the project and coding it a different way.

Yes, tampering with mouse emulation is always an option but you are very right - in most cases it is not worth it and indeed it's better to rethink the project.

By the way (may be someone will find that useful too), as far as I know it is possible to set margins for chart, i.e. to ensure that some drawing/text objects are still visible even though they are further than the last bar.

Yes. It is possible to set the margins and I have done it. It does come in usefull at times.
