    Speeding up processes in the indicators

    hi,
    i have a question for you :
    (Better reported to speed up the process and take up less memory)

    is better call a complex indicator to use a simple statement .... or recreate the simple statement?

    ex:
    Indicator A ( is a Big indicator)

    double value = MAX(High, 20)[0];
    ...
    ...
    *******************************************

    Strategy B:

    double value1 = MAX(High, 20)[0];

    I use : IndicatorA.value
    or value1?

    Hello turbofib,

    value1 would be the most efficient way since High is a series that NinjaTrader already has made and has access to. Adding an Indicator like that would use up more memory.

    Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

      Ok.. but if I must add Indicator A for any other reason ,
      should always use value1?

        Hello turbofib,

        If you add IndicatorA then you may use either one since both are already loaded up into memory but depending on how IndicatorA is being calculated value1 maybe more faster.
