CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0]

I need to find the open price for the day and I use CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0] and it gives me different value every tick? why? I would hope that it should be same entire day..

Thank you for posting.

The CurrentDayOHL() will get the current bars values which is why you are seeing a different value with each tick.

You would want to filter out the first of the session and then have the indicator or strategy grab that value with the CurrentDayOHL.
Example below -

if(Bars.FirstBarOfSession)
	{
		firstBar = CurrentDayOHL().CurrentOpen[0];
		Print(firstBar);
	}

The firstBar is a double variable declared in the Variables region.

CurrentDayOHL():CurrentOpen[0] should not give a different value with every tick, but it should return the same value - the current open - over the entire trading day.

@FarrukhAzim: Try again, the indicator does not return a different value with every tick.

@NinjaTrader_Cal: The variable firstBar is not needed, because the current open is only calculated once for the first bar of the trading day.
