Convert Price to Dollars

I am writing some position sizing code in one of my strategies and I am stuck on what seems to be a simple question.

How to I convert the price of a contract into dollars?

In case it matters, I am looking at commodities, not stocks.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!

Price of a contract into dollars is worked out as Point value * Tick Size.

Example is the ES contract.
Point value = 50
TickSize = .25

50*.25 = $12.50 per tick.
