Coloring Candlesticks

I would like to color the candlesticks between 5:00pm EST and 9:29am EST in black/white and color the candlesticks between 9:30am EST and 5:00pm EST in Red/Green (normal colors). But I don't know how to change the colors used for drawing candlesticks. Can someone help me get started?

Hi rcheezem

To change the color of the candlesticks, the two to consider are called...
BarColor (eg BarColor = Color.Yellow; ) and
CandleOutlineColor (eg CandleOutlineColor = Color.Black; )

If you set the BarColor property and the CandleOutlineColor property is not set, the outline color will take the color set by the BarColor property.

Coloring Candlesticks

First - Thank You, Stuart and Bertrand. The information you posted was a great help.

I am now wondering if there is a way to set the Color for Down Bars and Color for Up Bars. That way I could let Ninja Trader take care of coloring the candlesticks.

You are welcome rcheezem, you mean you would want to have a user input for the colors to use, so you can change on the fly as desired?

I was thinking of accessing the "color for down bars" and "color up bars" under the Chart Style used to define how a price chart is drawn (See data series on a chart).

Thanks, it would not fall into the areas of supported NinjaScript, however would be possible through the ChartControls - i.e.

ChartControl.ChartStyle.UpColor = Color.DarkBlue;
ChartControl.ChartStyle.DownColor = Color.DarkRed;
