unAdded Instrument Info

Hello,
Is there any way to get information about Instruments which is not Added?
I mean e.g. I know that S&P has abbreviation ES, so I would like to know what kind of futures it is (Metal, Soft, etc..) Something like Inst("ES").FutureType.

Hi Luigio, that info would unfortunately not be available, also not via coding, since our instrument database would not hold this info per se. I will however add this thought to our enhancement lists in product management, so it could be considered going forward in the further refinement of our platform.

Hi Bertrand,
Thank you that would be very helpful. Then I have an additional question even that the answer will be similar. Can I somehow check if an Instrument I am just going to add exists?
e.g. I wont to add an instrument ZS 12-13 which actually does not exist, can I check it before I add it?
If not may I somehow avoid showing the alert popup dialog window that the instrument does not exist?
I thought try..catch.. could help but it did not.

You would need to access the database sdf for this check, however that's an area out of regular NinjaScript which we could not support here officially - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ad.php?t=49699

An alternative for checking first what ever is entered in a user study, could be a Market Analyzer window.

More flexible handling of popup windows is on our feedback lists as well.
