Global Function for Stream Writer

I think I understand how to use Stream Writer to write to a file but can't I create a global function that I can all from all of my indicators to write to a file? If so how would I construct the function and hoq would I call it?

Write the code in a partial class, à la UserDefinedMethods.cs.
