How to check the volume?

I'm new to this programming, please help me.

How do I check what the volume is on previous bar, I want to do something like

if volume is greater then 5000 on the previous bar do something

ninjamouse, you can work with the Volume indicator here, so for example VOL()[1] would give you access to the last bar's volume value, which you can then compare to your threshold level for a condition.
