Another Wierd Error

Whenever I made changes to a particular strategy, then I save the strategy and close Ninjatrader and reopen, the strategy seems to revert to an earlier version. It always compiles successfully, any idea how to fix this one?

Have you tried disabling/shutting down any Anti-Virus, File Monitoring, or Automated Backup software installed on your machine?

We have seen a few cases of this happening where a program is changing the state of some file after being modified to a previous version.

I should not have any of these installed perhaps its a virus or some problem with the operating system?

It is possible, if you are using Windows Vista or above there is a Shadow Copy feature that is enabled by default that keeps previous versions of files that can be used to do this. You may see the following link for more information about the Shadow Copy inside of Windows.

Hi JC, thank you for the information. I'm going to try and reinstall/restore first. I am using Windows Vista. Is there a particular service pack or configuration that works best with NT? For example, certain settings for .NET?

You will want to install all Critical Updates for Windows Vista including SP2 and make sure to install the .NET 3.5 SP1 as well.
