This is functionality that is sadly missing from documentation and support, although it is continuously requested...

There have been some hacks... but without documentation it isn't going to be easy, and you are messing around in an unsupported area without a clear idea of what may cause damage.

Take a look at this thread:

Take a look at the file named Types in the types folder under:

NinjaTrader 7/bin/Custom/Type

Use @BarTypes as a starting point...

Try the search function and look for threads with custom bar type, etc for more clues.

It has been said over and over again, but Please NinjaTrader open up this functionality to fully documented and supported status...

We need to be able to sample the data in the database any way we can dream up.... we are shackled by the current state of things.

Does anyone know how to avoid re-loading NinjaTrader when updating custom bar type code? Say, I have a separate file with code in Type folder.

Even if I compile say, indicators, NinjaTrader still uses the old version of the custom bar type code, so I have to quit and re-launch NinjaTrader after every update, which is a bit annoying
