Bar Num Lookup from Date?

I want to know the number of bars back I must go to get to a certain date. Since each bar is time stamped, there must be a way to know this.

Suppose today is Tuesday, I am using 5 minute bars, and I want to know the Close price exactly five days ago, and I want to reference it via Close[N]. How can I determine N?

I do not think I can simply calculate N because I do not know how many bars in outside the session.

If you know the time of the bar you'd like to reference, you can use Bars.GetBar() to grab a bar from a specific time


int barsAgo = CurrentBar - Bars.GetBar(new DateTime(2006, 12, 18, 9, 0, 0));

Am I correct in understanding that the opposite of this (to get the date and time of a particular bar) would be Time[N] if N is the bar number? So, Time[N] and Bars.GetBar are inverses of each other?

Essentially, yes. Just remember that in NT, that is the closing time of the bar.
