Passing a dataseries to an indicator

If you make a dataseries in an indicator can you pass it to another indicator

for example

I make a custom index call CustomIndex and store it in a data series.

Can I pass that dataseries to the JMA moving average?

Is it like like this

Number = JMA(CustomIndex,10,0)[0]
