    coloring P&F column

I am working on my own script to paint certain X or O columns in different colors, it seems Bar Color doesn't work on Point and Figure chart.

    Hi solvmatic,

Correct, the BarColor will not have any effect on a Point and Figure chart.

You can however configure the color from the UI: Right click>Data Series.

Tim, thanks for your quick reply.
but that will paint all Xs or Os on the chart in the same color.
I am looking a way to paint the X or O column (or individul X or O) in a color other than the default color setting in the data series, for example, a basic PF pattern, when X break out of previous 2 Xs.
I know i can draw an object right there, but doesn't look neat.
any scipt out there can do this work?

solvematic, I would unfortunately not be aware of a script allowing to break this down in color besides custom drawing that you already mentioned.

Interestingly today i have been trying to do the same thing, change the column color (not the individual X or O) to no effect. I read over the section on how the different Bars are built and note that P&F are not built as bars and no doubt drawn with the other drawing logic. Is it still the case you cant change the color of P&F column in the latest NT release. The workaround i see is to perhaps draw a vertical line H to L for those columns i want to color for interest/highlighting. thanks

soulfx, there have not been any changes with regards to point and figure charting colors since the last post in this thread.

A colored vertical line sounds like a great workaround. You could also draw objects on the chart as needed to highlight areas of interest.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks - ok well i resorted to drawing diamonds above or below the P&F column seems clearer. Incidentally when i try to draw the Line it is hidden as P&F columns are in the foreground, unless is there a way to instruct the line to be drawn in the foreground in an indicator?

soulfx, the concept here is z-order, or the order in which indicators/plots/lines/etc will be displayed. It is currently not possible to set this z-order programmatically, although it is definitely on the list for future consideration.

I should also mention you can change the z-order manually, by selecting the draw object and then hold the shift key and move your mouse wheel forwards and backwards.

thank you - that is useful to know with the manual shift option for certain chart items and to understand the z-order aspect which is more effective than just foreground background.
