Import NinjaScript Archive File (.zip) Warning

I am getting message when I try to Import Ninja Script "You have custom NinjaScript files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a NinjaScript Archive File". I have some custom indicators from Bluewave Trading and it has worked well with NT 6.5 so far all these years. Do I have to contact Blue wave and ask them about it r is there something I have to do in Nt taht would resolve this problem. Thanks

Hi there, please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies- not just one.
    • Open NinjaTrader
    • From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
    • Select an indicator and double click on it.
    • A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
    • At the bottom of the window a new section will appear were you can find the error locations.
    • From there you have the option to remove the indicator or debug it.

Let me know if this does the trick for you.

      Austin,

I am having the same problem, but I just went into the NinjaScript file and cut/deleted the code, before I searched for the solution. What do I do next so that I can import another indicator?

      Thanks

Garry, you will have to either fix the errors in the code or delete the indicator in order to get all of the NinjaScripts to compile correctly before you can import another indicator.

NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.4 new install custom program errors

I just installed NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.4 from the NinjaTrader website and all is working well. This evening I attempted to import a custom ninjascript indicator and I get this message:

"You have custom NinjaScript files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a NinjaScript Archive File".

I have not imported any custom ninjascript files so far. The errors must be from the default indicators.

          Please help. Thanks.

The error could be from the indicator that you are trying to import, If you just copy in the cs file and try to compile, you will see a listing of the errors, and their sources.

NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.4 new install custom program errors

The error occurred even before I selected the file to import. Could I just remove all indicators and then insert them one by one to see which one causes the error? Where are the default indicators located? My trading strategy only uses three common indicators. Please help. Thanks.

Philip, the first step would be checking what's up with your local NinjaScript files by compiling just one indicator you would see more specific error info listed at the bottom of the editor -

I would have to go through every indicator looking for errors? What do I do when I find errors?

To find the issue it would be enough to compile one indicator, for example the default ADX - as NT would always compile all your files.
