Get Broker's time

Hi NT experts,

I noticed the computer's clock has offset to broker's time. The offset is typically 3-5 seconds, can be either plus or minus depending on the CPU. The offset is fairly consistent. Even after manually synchronizing with internet time, the offset will be back within an hour.

I also noticed that the broker's time matches atomic clock.

So i am wondering if there is way to get broker's time by any chance.

The charts will indeed sync to the computer time.


So that I can test this on my end, how are you identifying the discrepancy?

I am using Interactive brokers. Its TWS has time stamp constantly updating. You can pop up your compuer clock on teh lower hand and clearly see the difference. Most of time 3-4 seconds, sometimes it can be 10 seconds or more.
I have 2 Intel Core 2 Duo, both ahead of atomic clock by 4 seconds. I have 1 Intel i7-930, behind atomic clock by 4 seconds.
The atomic clock is a physical one on the wall. The broker's time typically agreess with atomic clock. But PC time is not.
Since Ninja Trader uses PC clock, the chart will look different at 1 minute level or lower.

IB does not time-stamp their own bar, so these would indeed be stamped according to your PC clock. Aside from the PC clock sync, you can also consider a provider that time-stamps their own bars.

A few providers that do not rely on the PC clock include:

BarChart
eSignal
PFG
Zen-Fire
