    rejected orders

    Hi,

I placed orders to long USDCAD at 7:30:03 CDT this morning and all were rejected due to invalid order values. When i look at my broker side (IB), all orders were at API panel with limit price missing. So i guess it might be something to do with the half pip limit price. By the way, i set FX quote options to halfpip per IB connection instructions.

    I pasted the log here:
    11/30/2009 7:30:03 AM|1|32|Order='72d8a2aad7f849eea370d7794eaa1b86/DU74392' Name='News_L1' New State=Accepted Instrument='$USDCAD' Action=Buy Limit price=1.05705 Stop price=1.0568 Quantity=0.05M Type=StopLimit Filled=0 Fill price=0 Error=NoError Native error=''

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Which IB TWS version are you on?

      It is build 898.4.
I did a test and it looks like the problem is USDCAD specific.
The same code has no problem on EURUSD, USDJPY, EURJPY. On USDCAD, if the number of ticks between stop and limit is set to odd number, all orders will be rejetced. If set to even number, the orders with half pips will be rejetced and orders without half pips will survice.

        binwang2,

I suppose a way you can check is to try to submit half pips directly in IB and see what happens on USDCAD.

Just entered an order FOR USDCAD with half pip in IB. It was rejected. The warining message is: 1.05755 does not conform to the minimum price variation of 0.0001 for this contract.
I checked NT's instrument for USDCAD: the tick size is set at 0.00005. So i assume i can change it to 0.0001. Do you see any issue of that?
