Any way to see if trade was a short or a long

Is there any data element in onmarketupdate or onmarketdepth that lets one know if the last trade was a short or a long?

I do know if it was as the ask or the bid or inbetween, but I don't know if it was a short or a long.

My guess is no as for every sell this is a buy, and for every buy there is a sell.

I'm wanting to get a running total of shorts and longs.

Any ideas?
