    Test for Type

    Code:
    if(Bars.Instrument.MasterInstrument.InstrumentType = "Currency")
    {
    do something
    }
    The above fails as it implicitly converts a string to a bool - how can I get around that?

    You would likely need a double == instead of =.

      This, and the comparison by itself is incorrect. It needed to be like:
      Code:
      if (Bars.Instrument.MasterInstrument.InstrumentType == Cbi.InstrumentType.Currency)
      {
      }
