There are many reasons and implications why you cannot do it from a single strategy. You need to work around the limitation and as such I have already provided you with several alternatives our users use. A third alternative is people just use two strategies running simultaneously.

well my guess is that you have not tested other products like Tradestation or Multicharts and how easy it would be to do something like this with those platforms - as it should be. it's up to you if you want to fix it or keep telling people to go through workarounds.

NinjaTrader's approach allows you many flexibilities that MultiCharts and TradeStation cannot afford. As such it comes with a different set of implications. Just to give you a scratch at the surface of the issue consider this. NinjaTrader's order placement in NinjaScript automatically reverses you positions. If you are long and you call a short it will automatically close the long before going short. Because of this you cannot have simultaneous orders placed in opposite directions. If you have one filled, does the other close the first? What happens if both fills in a fast moving market? There are merits and virtues in all possible approaches. We have offered you several options to proceed. Unfortunately it is what it is at this point in time. We have already taken note of your concern.
