exclude weekends

If you design a simple strategy with the wizard and exclude weekends in
the chart, would close[1] on sunday at 5pm refer to the close of 5pm on Friday?

If you are running your strategy on daily charts it will refer to the prior day's close. Prior day meaning prior day on the chart which is not necessarily the prior calendar day.

If you are intraday Close[1] will just give you the close price of the previous bar, not the previous day.
