Mouse Up Event

I had not tried using TriggerCustomEvent from my MouseUpEvent handler and must admit that I was not even aware of the method. I have now since tried it and it solved my problem and appears to work as advertised. Thanks for the tip KBL, much appreciated.

This is an example of a mouse up event. The indicator does not plot anything. The only thing it does is print a message to the output window when the mouse is clicked.

Hi folks,

I'm having the same peoblem as Ken; it's pretty much a show stopper for my project at this point. I totally understand that hooking a .NET event (in this case, MouseUp) is "out-of-the-scope" for official support. Nonetheless, does anyone, (anyone at all? including those C#/.NET/Ninjascript geniuses such as gumphrie, TRO, et al) have any workaround or solution to the problem???

The problem is so weird: if you access any member of the Bars object, say Close[0] from within a MouseXXX() handler, you'll be thrown an ArgumentOutOfRangeException:

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index
at System.Collections.ArrayList.get_Item(Int32 index)
at NinjaTrader.Indicator.DataSeriesHelper.get_Item(In t32 barsAgo)

charper, you are correct this is out of the range of the official support.

Anyways, a quick thought I had: are you trying to access the price data before OnBarUpdate() is called for the first time?

The basis for my thought: None of the bar arrays (Close, High, Volume, Time, etc) contain any information before OnBarUpdate() is called.

Hopefully someone else will be able to assist you if this doesn't do the trick.

I feel like an idiot: I set my browsing mode to Hybrid so I did not see additional posts on this thread, where Ralph pointed out that I can use TriggerCustomEvent() from my Mouse event. Just did a quick test. Works perfectly. Thanks so much Ralph.
