Playing Sounds

Is there anyway to have an indicator alert only play the sound once? I have an alert indicator on a chart, but it plays the sound when the alert condition is met, for the entire bar. I just want it to play the sound one or twice.

If you only want the alert to happen once a bar I recommend doing something like this:

if(FirstTickOfBar)
{

//alert code here
}

Thanks for your, but I don' think that will work b/c the alert I'm looking for could happen at any tick in the bar. I just only want sounde to play once per alert... not for the whole bar.Brian

Hello,

You could use a bool flag by doing something like this:

if(...alert conditions here... && my_alert)
{
//alert code here

my_alert = false;
}

Then have some code to reset the bool to true when you want it to start looking for your conditions to alert. If you only one one alert per bar then you could use:

if(FirstTickOfBar)
{
my_alert = true;
}
