    define a session

    On BarsSinceSession:
how to define the start time of a session for forex? Thanks.

This is defined on your chart properties. Just double click your chart and bring up the Properties window. You can set your session times there.

Was this feature disabled in the latest version of NT?
I'm running version 6.5.1000.12 on one PC and 6.5.1000.10 on another. The .10 version shows the session start & end times correctly in the Properties window, but in the .12 version they no longer appear.

        Hello,

No, it should be available for any version of NT. Show us a screen shot.

This is the version .12 screenshot of the Properties wiindow. On the .10 version the session start/end times appear in the data series section right after Exclude weekend.

On Friday 8/21/09 the price for the YM opened at 9382 but my NinjaTrader charts show it as 9327 even when I clearly have my trading hours as 6:30 PDT to 1:00 PDT. Why the discrepancy and why aren't the ninajtrader charts correct? I have set the times correctly but why don't the charts show this? Any answer to thwart around the question will be met with skepticism as to why the times are not correct. Is there a bug? Programming issue? Please just answer this honestly. If you do not know the answer please do not reply. What is the correct answer?

With reference to my earlier post, I found I could reinstate the missing session start/end times by reloading the chart template. I also noted that if I change the instrument on a given chart, the session start/end times disappear again...
This behavior is the same in v.10 and v.12

              js1257,
Although it does not answer your question, the following thread confirms (at least to me) that there are occasional problems with Ninja Trader charts, and not just on the YM:

I am finding that the start and end times are correct except for the range bars. It does work with RangeALT and RangeW bars.

js1257, this is related to the original Range Bar chart filled the gaps with phantom data, so it might appears it does not work correctly, the Range Bar Alt does not have this behavior and so it works as you would expect.
