EMA Alert

Could i get a screen shot of how a alert warning when 2 EMAs are 5 ticks away from each other? So i want the alert to trigger when 2 different EMAs are (X) number of ticks from each other before crossing.

Hello The_Sec,

To do what you are asking would usually require subtracting one indicator from another to get a difference, that difference could then be used to know if the indicator is X ticks away in either direction, above or below. That type of math can't be used in the alert window but you can define specific conditions for offset price values.

Using the alert builder you can use offsets but that will also mean you would have to come up with multiple conditions depending on the direction of the price that you wanted to check. A simple example would be checking if the first ema is below the second ema value that is offset by 5 ticks and the first ema is greater than the the second ema. I have attached a screenshot of those two conditions. Unfortunately the alert window does not show the offset in this view, you would in the first condition select Ticks as the offset on the right side of the condition and enter the value of offset you want to use as the difference.
