Using Indicators in custom bar code

I am trying to create a custom bar type and would like to know if I can add a data series and indicator in the custom bar code similar to how we do it in Strategies?

Does anyone have any sample code for how to use AddDataSeries and initializing Indicators in a custom bar cs file?

Thank you for your post.

You may not add any additional data series or call indicators from a BarsType script. What are you looking to achieve with your script? Based on what you are looking to do, we might be able to offer a suggestion of how it could be done with a different type of script.

Unfortunately that was not the answer I was looking for but feared based on my experimenting with trying to use indicators in my custom bar development.
Frankly I'm just tired of copying the code from each indicator and handling all that state management and was hoping there was something I was missing.

Its embarrassing but what I have been missing in my brain is to see if the darn thing is currently going up or down?! (I can't be the only person with this problem)
Now its crystal clear ;-)
