    Order of operations

    How does the system (in a backtest or in active trading) evaluate conditional statements. If there are multiple conditions that have to be met, are they evaluated in order that they appear? I just wanted to know so I can put the easiest ones to evaluate closer to the top to make processing more efficient.

    In the following example will the system not bother with the second line if the answer to the first is false?

    if (Close[0] > Close[1]
    && MOREcomplexCONSIDERATION == true)

    I suppose a similar question for the sake of clarification is, would the above example process faster than the below example because it won't bother to evaluate if MOREcomplexCONSIDERATION == true unless Close[0] > Close[1]?

    if (MOREcomplexCONSIDERATION == true
    && Close[0] > Close[1])

    Thanks for the help.

    They are evaluated from left to right and yes, if Close[0] > Close[1] is not true, then the rest of the condition is skipped.
