alert at approach to moving average

Hi
Is anyone aware of an indicator that gives an audible alert when price is approaching a moving average?

Probably easy to code if not, just thought Id see if someone can save me the trouble.

Thank you for your post.

You can try searching our file sharing section to see if anyone has contributed this.

You should be able to create this using the condition builder of the strategy wizard.

See here for instructions on making indicator to value comparisons in the condtion builder.

Setting alerts is one the built in actions in the strategy wizard.

I created a strategy with the required conditions and then realised that I need an indicator, not a strategy. When I looked at the indicator wizard it was not clear to me how to input the conditions etc to create an indicator to use in the usual way.

Probably easy but as a rank beginner can you give me some guidance to smooth the process.

Couldnt find anything in the indi archives that does what i want.

Your indicator will use the Alert() method and an if() statement.

Using the strategy wizard is a good place to get the syntax for accessing indicator and price information.
