What is the difference between the regular Pivots and Floor Pivots?

I do not know the expression regular pivots. In case you refer to regular trading hours (RTH) pivots: The regular session is the floor session. This regular session pivots are identical with floor pivots. However, for most of the instrument the floor is now closed. Therefore the regular session refers to the trading hours that were in place when the floor was still open.

For example, if you look at crude oil, the current contract specifications do no longer show regular trading hours. The electronic trading takes places between 6:00 PM and 5:00 PM EST. However, most of the traders still remember the trading hours for the floor session which opened at 9:00 AM EST and closed at 2:30 PM EST. This is referred to as the regular session or floor session. The daily settlement for crude oil still takes place between 2:28 and 2:30 PM EST, which are the last 2 minutes of the floor session.

As fewer and fewer traders are recalling the opening hours of the trading floor, the significance of the floor session and floor pivots is slowly fading. This is particulary true for commodities such as crude oil, which are also traded during the European trading hours (Brent crude). As a rule of thumb, the floor session remains crucial for futures which are clearly bound to a local market, such as futures on US stock indices, bonds and treasuries.
