Formula for TSSuperTrend Indicator

Hi all,

I am trying to understand how the TSSuperTrend Indicator is working. Is there anyone who knows the exact formula? I know that the components are ATR, Period 14, Multiplier 2,618 and HMA. What I just don’t know is how they interact. I would like to calculate it in MS Excel on my own.
I already tried to contact TradingStudies.com several times, but got no reply.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Is it possible to see the workings of the Supertrend Indicator in MS Excel? If someone has done it, can you please post the xls file?

I got past this issue, but I don't remember how.

I think the issue had to do with the changes in NT7 and chart control and drawing.

TSS = original indicator, with debug write command added that says "TSS FIRED"

TSSS = TSS stripped of it's drawing and chart features and debug write that says "TSSS FIRED"

Use TSSS in your strategy and just get the true/false values for signal.

Use TSS on your chart, then put the strategy on the chart.

Result: When you run, your strategy will work because it gets rid of all the ever so buggy charting and drawing calls. You can watch the debug window to make sure that your strategy and your indicator are in sync. They should both "fire" at the same time.

Gotchas: make sure that your chart and your strategy are set to use the same bar type and time.

Second, I have a question and hope nobody minds that I ask it here: How can I change the settings so that I can view the posts of a thread in chronological order (oldest post is #1 etc.) ? Sorry but I just can´t find out how to do it ...

I'm using NT 7.22, and the TSS indicator is a bit buggy. I had to turn _colorbars = false as default
o/w it creates lots of problems. No idea about NT 6.xx, never used it.

I also can't get it to work. Added both files and still get the method error. Used both latest beta and 6.5.

Can't access TSSuperTrend values from a strategy

I noticed the missing TSSuperTrend.Utility.cs as nissii from previous post but,
upon trying the same procedure to add it with the new TSSuperTrend version,
I still have the same problem trying to use the code as shown earlier in actionjackson's post.

I see plenty of posts where many people are using the indicator (which works wonderfully in the charts I might add) but, I have yet to be able to access the
values and haven't seen any examples where anyone else has either.

Can anybody please show me the error of my ways ?
