What you had before for vertical axis was limitted in features and is not the same indicator. The idea for this customizing ToolBar is to be installed as part of the NT main menu for better access and save the main chart space that is otherwise wasted if the veritical toolbar is used. You can pick and choose as many or all tools that you like to show.Originally posted by Heycorky View PostHow do you get this ToolBar to be on a Vertical Axis on Left Side I had it there before ? ? ? Thanks

Thanks. I have no clue about the screen shot menu in your post or where it comes from, it does not look like a NT menu bar indicator. However, if it is an indicator you can post it here and I will see if I can incorporate the idea.Originally posted by Creamers View PostFirst, great addon!!
First feature request which would make it even greater is a text button that has predefined text. See attachment. Is that easy to do or maybe you have tips how I can add it myself?
Regardless, this would require a custom dropdown window that would only serve your specific and unique text items that no one else can use or knows what they mean.

Hello. Many thanks for the tool bar indicator.
In NT7 I used an indicator called "Tool Bar Shortcuts" I think it was by user Sim22.
In that indicator when selecting the "Remove Drawing Objects" or bin icon on the toolbar, a window pops up with a tick box against each of the types of drawing objects that was put on the chart. The user could tick the box for objects they wanted removed and be able to leave the rest.
If it's possible for you to add this to your indicator that would be most helpful.
I know in NT8 via Draw Objects from the drop down Pen icon we can remove each item one by one but when you have many items it's simply not a practical way to do this. Unless I missing something and all of one type of object can be deleted at once
The tick box in NT7 deletes all objects that the box is ticked for ie: all lines or all arrows etc in one go while leaving the other objects if not ticked.
Again my thanks and kind regardsLast edited by dj22522; 08-06-2023, 12:37 PM.

ToolBarShortcut was originally written by NinjaTrader_Joydeep. Later I provided a revision that included a few additional buttons and released it as ToolBar ShortcutV1 in the forum. You are correct the indicator grouped the drawing tools as in Ninjatrader. However, the toolbar was vertivally plotted in the left side of the main chart (used chart space) and one could not add or remove buttons on the chart. I think later there there was a limitted version that would only show one of the 5 groups of drawing tools.
mahToolBar 6 is plotted inside the main NT toolbar to save chart space, and each tool button can be individually added or deleted to show in the toolbar by checking the related box in the chart properties list. I personally use only a few of the most poplular tools that I have checked in the list of properties and rarely need to modify my custom buttons. Being able to check as many tools as you like in your desired setup is the main advantage of my toolbar that also includes a bunch of additional tools that are not in the original ToolBarShortcut.
NinjaTrader made a new toolbar for NT8 and code breaking code was not provided for converting NT7 tool bar code to NT8. Therefore, mahToolBar 6 was developed with many additional advantages for use in NT8. Once you check your desired tools you rarely need to make changes.
Cheers!

Hi aligator
Many thanks for the reply. Apologies for forgetting the ToolbarShortcutV1 was your version. Getting old here. lol
I do use your mahToolbar6 already, thank you, I was just referring to how the delete objects functions work.
From what you're saying, the draw objects can't be "grouped" in the same way as the NT7 version (?)
If not then is it possible to change the way the bin icon functions on the mahToolbar6 (?)
Presently in mahToolbar6 I have the bin icon on the toolbar. In settings it's listed as "Remove All Drawing Objects"
but it doesn't remove all the objects in one click as does via the NT8 pen icon and at the bottom of the menu list > "Remove All Drawing Objects" .
Via the bin icon I have to first click on a drawn object on my chart and then click the bin icon which deletes that one object. I need to do this for every object one by one. Meaning click on object > click bin icon > click on object > click bin icon.
Is this supposed to happen or should all objects be removed by clicking once on the maToolbar6 bin icon ?
Assuming it isn't supposed to remove all objects at once can it be changed to do this ?
In the same way as "Remove All Drawing Objects" does via the pen icon then scroll to the bottom of the drop down menu then click "Remove All Drawing Objects" then click "Yes are you sure". Four clicks.
It would reduce the process to just one click instead of the four clicks.
Many thanksLast edited by dj22522; 08-15-2023, 04:29 AM.

From what you're saying, the draw objects can't be "grouped" in the same way as the NT7 version (?) Correct, unless using extensive coding.
If not then is it possible to change the way the bin icon functions on the mahToolbar6 (?) The trash bin icon "Remove All Drawing Objects" works just the same as default trash bin icon (HotKey).
Presently in mahToolbar6 I have the bin icon on the toolbar. In settings it's listed as "Remove All Drawing Objects" Correct!
but it doesn't remove all the objects in one click as does via the NT8 pen icon and at the bottom of the menu list > "Remove All Drawing Objects". It should. Obviously, something is not right. I just drew a bunch of objects from the from the menu bar on a chart. Then, cliked on trash bin icon. A window comes on asking "Are you sure you want to remove all drawing objects?" (Do you get this question window?) I click "Yes" and all manually drawn objects are removed. The only objects that are NOT removed are those that are drawn by an indicator, such as arrows, lines, shapes, objects, etc. This is exactly what NT8 defalt trash bin does. Perhaps, removing the mahToolBar 6 and properly re-installing the indicator may help.
Via the bin icon I have to first click on a drawn object on my chart and then click the bin icon which deletes that one object. I need to do this for every object one by one. Meaning click on object > click bin icon > click on object > click bin icon. You do NOT have to click on an any object at all, just click on the bin icon.
Is this supposed to happen or should all objects be removed by clicking once on the maToolbar6 bin icon ? Just click the bin once to clean all. To clean one individual object, just left mouse click to highlight then delete on the keyboard.
Assuming it isn't supposed to remove all objects at once can it be changed to do this ? But it is supposed to clean all with one click and it does for me and others
In the same way as "Remove All Drawing Objects" does via the pen icon then scroll to the bottom of the drop down menu then click "Remove All Drawing Objects" then click "Yes are you sure". Four clicks.
It would reduce the process to just one click instead of the four clicks. But it is one click. Just click on the trash bin in main menu as shown in your screenshot.
Maybe if you can create and post a short video and let me see what you are doing. It is supposed to be a simple 1-click operation, that is the beauty of this toolbar. If you are doing 4 clicks to delete an object, you are doing something not the NT usual.
Many thanks
Cheers!

Hello aligator
Thanks for taking the time and effort to reply. So we're both still young
Clicking the bin/trash icon doesn't remove all drawing objects.
I don't get the message pop up asking "Are you sure" which I do get if I go via the pen icon then "Remove All Drawing Objects" and which does remove all objects.
Only by clicking each object and then the bin icon and then the next object etc..as described above.
I uninstalled the indicator and zip and redownloaded and reinstalled but no change.
Here's a short video::
World's leading screen capture + recorder from Snagit + Screencast by Techsmith. Capture, edit and share professional-quality content seamlessly.
I've created a Hot Key in the meantime so it's a bit easier than via the four clicks previously explained but non the less it would be better it worked as you describe and as it does for every one else. I obviously have no idea
why it doesn't.
Again my thanks for your helpLast edited by dj22522; 08-18-2023, 03:34 AM.

Thanks for the video, now I see what you are doing. You have changed the Hot Key assignment for the "Remove Drawing Objects".Originally posted by dj22522 View PostHello aligator

The draw objects icons in mahToolBar 6 will work only if your associated hot keys are the same as what is coded in the indicator. Please check your list of Hot Keys and make sure "Remove drawing objects" is assigned Ctrl+Delete. Let me know if this works. Also, please make sure other hot keys are consistent with the toolbar code.
Cheers!

It works.
Thank you so much.
It's odd. The Remove All Drawing wasn't working before I assigned the hot key value. Meaning I hadn't changed the hot key value until 2 days ago to make it easier for me to delete objects. I'd not used the hot key before for this.
If I recall when installing the indicator I don't think there was a hot key value assigned to Remove All Drawing. It was blank.
No mind it works so many thanks again for your time and help.
kind regards

Great! True, the default NT does not assign a Hot Key for remove drawing objects. I created the Ctrl+Delete hot key for the indicator. Also, a few more of icons have hot keys created by me for the indicator that do not exist or are kept blank in default NT hot keys. One example is the highly popular Horizontal Ray with Ctrl+End hot key.Originally posted by dj22522 View Postaligator

If any of the mahTooBar 6 icons do not function you either have a wrong or a blank default hot key.
