I update from NT8 Beta to RC2 and have the startup problem. Clicking on the N T 8 64 bit icon. The program fails to start. It gets stuck at "Initializing database ...".

Thank you for your post.
Something that would be very helpful in getting this resolved would. be your log and trace files. These should be able to tell us what is causing the crash.
Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.
You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Platform Support.
Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
