Convert playback data from NT7 to NT8

I know that when you first install NT8, it will ask if you want to convert your NT7 data to NT8. Does that only do historical data, or does it also convert the NT7 Market Replay to NT8 Playback? If so, is there another way to convert Playback data other than reinstalling NT8?

Yes, replay data is converted.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to recreate the migration process after the initial installation:

First ensure NinjaTrader 8 is closed.
Open the NinjaTrader 8 Config File (Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > Config.xml)
Look for the migration line and delete the line entirely:

Save the config file.
Launch NinjaTrader 8 and you will receive the migration prompt.

We ran the conversion of the ES ##-## data from NT7 to NT8 and it appears to have worked OK... there are .NRD files in the Playback/ES ##-## folder. But when we run Playback in NT8 using those dates, no bars are drawn on the chart. We added the ES ##-## contract to the Instruments, but still nothing draws on the chart when running Playback. Any ideas?

Please write in to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[COM] and attach a zipped copy of your replay data.

• Navigate to Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db
• Right click on the 'replay' folder and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) Folder.
• Send the compressed folder as attachments to your email
