(1) Date format
In NinjaTrader 7 start and expiry of a customer license were shown as date in local time format. This was pretty convenient. With NinjaTrader 8 date are shown in US format and 12:00 00 AM is added to all dates.
If I enter a license start date for today
-> NinjaTrader 7 display 03.08.2016
-> NinjaTrader 8 displays 8/3/2016 12:00:00 AM
This is completely confusing, as nobody (except for Americans) can read this strange format with inverted days and months. Logically you would either start with the year or with the day, but not in the middle. Adding 12:00:00 AM to every single date does not make sense either. You cannot set any license to start in the middle of the day .. and this is definitely not necessary.
By the way when edit a license start and end date are shown in local time format as for NinjaTrader 7. It is inconsistent to use two different time formats on the same screen.
(2) Location of add / edit and remove button
NinjaTrader 7 had those buttons in the top left corner. They were easily readible. Now there are minuscule buttons in the lower right corner. This is not were you search for them. When you open a menu you expect all importants things to be located in the top and not in the bottom of the page. When you open the vendor licensing module, in 95% of all cases you are not going to create a new module, but a new customer license or modify a customer license.
Therefore these buttons should be in the top of the page and not in the lower right corner.
(3) License modification has been complicated.
In the past with NinjaTrader 7 to modify a license you would
-> sort the user names
-> scroll to the customer name
-> select the license
-> enter the modification in the top left
-> update the license
Now with NinjaTrader 8 you need to
-> sort the user names
-> scroll to the customer name
-> select the license
-> edit the license
-> enter the modification in the popup menu
-> select the OK button to update the license
A 5-step process has become a 6-step process.
(4) Visual design, distance between legend and box.
It would be preferable to have the legend closer to the boxes, such that each term can be associated with its box.
