What is the best way to convert an existing NT7 .xml script to an NT8 script?

If you are referring to an xml template file, there is currently no suggested approach for this as the platform generates these files its self based on the object being serialized.

Unfortunately I couldn't recommend a manual way to do this, but only to configure whatever type of item it is in the platform and save the template or preset for that item. If you save a template for the new item, you could in theory edit that template in a text editor to your liking, but if a invalid value is used it could have unknown problems.
