Currently alerts are tied to the chart / market analyzer from which they are created. The problem with this approach is that when I change the symbol on a chart with an alert attached you lose the alert.
It would make more sense for them to be independent so that when an alert is created it is added to an alert tab (like the strategy tab) in the control center where it will have it's own separate data request that isn't tied to the chart.
I believe this would make alerts in ninjatrader much more useful.
